First Impression of People

When I informed people back home that I was travelling to Montreal, Quebec for surgery on my eye, I was told to be very careful. Warned about the francophones and intolerance and dislike of anglophones and English speaking Canadians.

Well, I have been here almost one year, and am happy to report most of the beliefs held by most of western Canada about French Montreal are very wrong. If anything, the Montrealers I have met are for the most part exactly like every major city in Canada. In some ways, better, because of the cultural and tourism influence. I was pleasantly surprised by the people and disarmingly friendly attitude of the francophones I have met thus far.

Speaking from my experience and in my opinion, Montreal makes most of the places I have lived and visited look unaccepting and prejudiced.
